Virus protection

Most viruses are passed via e-mail. Usually, in attached files.

To avoid infecting your laptop, and the rest of the Brunswick Community, with a virus:

        1. Do not open email messages with attachments from people you do not know and trust.
        2. If you get message with an attachment from someone you know but were not expecting an attachment - beware! Many virus send messages using an infected machines address book so it will infect your friend's machines, too.
        3. Up-date your virus protection regularly!
        4. You are only protected from viruses that were discovered prior to the last time you up-dated your software most virus protection software offers updates for newly discovered viruses.
        5. You should up-date your protection regularly - at least once a week.
        6. Your computer should never be set to share files or your printer.
        7. If you do not know what that means do not worry about it, it probably is not, but if you have a question, contact someone in the tech department.
