Writing Assignment
Topic: Write a one paragraph advertisement for your favorite food or drink (if it’s from a restaurant, that’s okay).
Plan/Outline: Think about: What three details can you use to make people want to eat or drink your favorite product? Use vivid detail words. Your outline should be very brief.
EX:
A. not too sweet
1. Smooth, rich
B. healthy
1. good for your heart
2. stimulates endorphins
C. complements other foods well
1. breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack
II. Dark chocolate is healthy, delicious and is versatile
Draft: Expand your outline into some semblance of a first draft.
Revise and Edit: This means more than check your
spelling. You should read it aloud and
make sure your ideas flow and they are written in logical order. Editing includes moving sentences,
restructuring sentences or paragraphs, and checking for spelling.
Draft: Write your first draft (due now!). First drafts may be handwritten.
Revise and Edit: Yes, do it again, taking into consideration
any comments from your teacher.
Write your final draft: Make your writing as clear and interesting
(with details!) as possible. Final
drafts must be typed in 12-font with
standard margins. Your final draft is
due Thursday.
