- Jim takes fruit, cake, and cookies to a picnic. He has three boxes for them. One is labeled FRUIT. One is labeled COOKIES. One is labeled CAKE. But he knows his Mom likes to fool him and has put every single thing in the wrong box. The only other thing he knows for sure is that the fruit is not in the CAKE box. Where is the cake?
- Can you make 100 using just four 9’s?
Answers:
- 4 hours… doubling the number of copiers will double the output in the same amount of time.
- Burt… because when Alex won the race, Burt was 20 meters from the finish line and Carl was 40 meters away… if Burt gives Carl a 20 meter head start, he would win that last 20 meters by a nose.
- Ten days. After 9 days and 9 nights, he is at 9,000 feet. On the 10th day he climbs 3,000 feet to the summit.
- The cake isn’t in the CAKE box and it can’t be in the COOKIE box, because that’s the only place for the fruit; so it must be in the box labeled FRUIT.
- 999/9
