CLASS GUIDELINES
"Be Prompt, Be Prepared, Be Pleasant and Participate"

Required Materials:

  • Bring your course text book to class everyday.

  • Bring a Graphing calculator, preferably a TI-83 Plus, to class everyday.


Home Work:

  • Homework is assigned regularly & you are expected to complete it in a timely fashion.

  • Homework will be checked regularly. Assignments submitted late or incomplete will affect your final grade.


Class Notes:

  • You are expected to maintain a Math notebook – notes will be reviewed frequently.

  • Problems which are solved on the whiteboard should be carefully noted.


Grading:

  • Tests and quizzes will be assigned at least two days in advance.

  • There will be a non-calculator section in each test and quiz.

  • Four mental math tests will be administered each quarter and the grades will account for 5% of your quarter grade.

  • Your quarter grade will be a weighted average of tests, quizzes, mental math, homework, computer work and class participation.


Plagiarism Statement:

  • You are not allowed to store formulas and procedures on your calculator in tests.

  • If a student is found to have cheated on any type of assessment, he or she will receive a 'zero' grade on that assessment.


To avoid disruptions and distractions:

  • All cell phones must be turned off in the classroom.

  • Latecomers may be denied entrance to the classroom.

  • When in class, please use your laptops for classroom-related activities only.
