Christopher Forester's Website
Class Policy

• In addition to the policies stated in your Student Handbook, the following also apply to this course:

• It is expected that you will take your academic responsibilities seriously and that you will add to, and not interfere with, the learning process in the classroom.

Homework:

• Your homework will be checked daily. It is required that your homework contains your work. You certainly may share ideas with a classmate or a parent during the process. Be careful not to help someone too much or to become dependent on someone else. Copying someone's homework is cheating and will be treated as such ( see Handbook).

• The heading for your homework should include your name, the date and the assignment

• The problems from the book must be copied in pen and the work must be done in pencil.

Notebook:

• Your math notebook should contain all homework, worksheets, notes, quizzes, and tests for each trimester. At the end of the trimester, your notebook material can be transferred to a file to be kept at home. Your notebook will be checked and graded.

Extra help:

• It is expected that you will take the initiative to seek extra help if necessary. Do not wait until the last moment as you may find I have no free moments left. There will be scheduled extra help sessions written on my board prior to each test and additional appointments may be scheduled. I will not be available for extra help the day of a test or if an honest effort has not been made in class. Extra help will not be given in the case of an unexcused absence or from missing material due to classroom misbehavior.

Absence:

• You are responsible for all work missed during an absence. You must take the initiative to see me for a list of the work to be made up, call a classmate, or check my website to get the assignments. You should also get the missing notes when you return. You will have at most one day to make up work for each day you were absent. If you do not make up the work on time, you will lose points or receive a zero.
• If you are absent the day of a test, you will be required to take the test upon your return. Please see me first thing in the morning to schedule a time to take the test. If you are absent on review day, you should plan to take the test the following day.
• If you know you will be absent ahead of time, then you are expected to obtain your assignments, and take any quizzes or tests before your absence.

Materials for class:

• You are required to bring your notebook, textbook, calculator (Algebra IA only), pencil and pen to class each day.
• Please let me know if you are receiving math tutoring.
