IMPERATIVO – AFFIRMATIVE COMMANDS              FECHA:

• To tell someone to do something, we use commands. Spanish uses special verb endings to give affirmative commands to anyone you would address as TU or VOSOTROS.

• To form the affirmative command for TU:

1.      Drop the end of the infinitive (-AR, -ER, -IR).

2.      Add –a for –ar verbs, and –e for –er/-ir verbs.

3.      Ejemplos: cantar à canta tú; comer à come tú; escribir à escribe tú

·        To form the affirmative command for VOSOTROS:

1.      Drop the end of the infinitive (-AR, -ER, -IR).

2.      Add –ad for –ar verbs; -ed for –er verbs; and –id for –ir verbs.

3.      Ejemplos: cantar à cantad vosotros; comer à comed vosotros; escribirà escribid vosotros
