Fifth grade marks the beginning of the formal study of Spanish at Brunswick. Although the boys are exposed to the language in varying degrees from Pre-Kindergarten on, there is no assessment until middle school. The Spanish program is ¡Expresate!; it is a multi-sensory approach that targets each of the fundamental language skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading. In this way, we enhance the students' comfort level and language acquisition in order to prepare them for real-life use of the language.
