I am a native of Yemen.  I graduated from the University of Sana’a in Sana’a, Yemen with a bachelor of science in French education.  I received a scholarship to study in the Université de Franche-Comté in Besançon, and got a master’s degree in  Education.

I came to the United States in 2000.  I have worked in several schools since my arrival to the United States.  I taught in Hillhouse High School in New Haven, and in the Yale University summer program.  I have been an adjunct professor of Arabic and French at Southern Connecticut State University since 2003, and I continue to teach there in the evening.  I think that I have something special to offer Brunswick students because I am a college professor, and I know what is expected of Brunswick students when they graduate and go on to college.

I speak four languages—Arabic, English, French, and Amharic (the national language of Ethiopia)

Currently, I live in Hamden, Connecticut, with my wife and two children—Ahmad, age 4, and Sarah, age 2.  I enjoy cooking and traveling.
