Required courses (levels
I--III)
Level II
C- or above in Level I (Middle School or Upper School)
Students with D+ or lower receive a "Summer Assignment Sheet"
outlining work to be done as well as a 4th quarter comment explaining the
situation. They must pass (C- or above) a make-up exam in September.
Level II Accelerated
B+ or above in Level I (Middle School or Upper School)
In addition, students must have shown in Level I that they are
independent and motivated learners who can handle a fast-paced instruction.
Level III
C- or above in Level II
Students with D+ or lower receive a "Summer Assignment Sheet"

situation. They must pass (C- or above) a make-up exam in September.
Level III Advanced
B+ or above in Level II Accelerated
In addition, students must have shown in Level II Accelerated that

Elective courses
(levels 4--5, and APs)
Level IV
C or above in Level III
Students with C- in Level III are advised to do summer work;
they receive a "Summer Assignment Sheet" outlining work to be done as well
as a 4th quarter comment explaining the situation. They do not have a
make-up exam in September.
Students with D+ or lower in Level III are strongly encouraged
not to take an elective course. If they insist to pursue their language
study, they receive a "Summer Assignment Sheet" outlining work to be done as
well as a 4th quarter comment explaining the situation. They must pass (C
or above) a make-up exam in September.
Level
IV Honors
B or above in Level III Advanced
A or above in Level III
Level V
C or above in Level IV
Constraints are similar to those explained in Level IV above.
AP
Language
B+ or above in Level IV Honors
A or above in Level III Advanced
Students must apply by filling in a departmental form
AP
French Literature
A score of 5 in the AP French Language exam.
Students must apply by filling in a departmental form.

Spanish Literature
A score of 4/5 in the AP Spanish Language exam.
