WED. FEB 13 -- No HW.  We start fiction today in class.  There will be a brief writing assignment over the long weekend (assigned in class).

TUE. FEB 19 -- Meta-fiction due. Read "The Runner" by James Tabor in class.

THU. FEB 21 -- Read "A Good Man Is Hard To Find" by Flannery O'Connor.

MON. FEB 25 -- Read "Where I'm Calling From" by Raymond Carver AND Bret Lott's piece on writing "Before We Get Started."  Meta-fiction pieces returned today.

WED. FEB 27 -- Read "Hands" by Sherwood Anderson (make sure you have purchased Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio AND The Story and Its Writer.  Luckily, this story is in BOTH).

THU. FEB 28 -- Read "The Untold Lie" from Winesbury, Ohio.

OVER THE WEEKEND -- Read two stories of your choice from the Anderson.

TUE. MAR 4 -- Read "The Chain" by Tobias Wolff.

WED. MAR 5 -- Finish reading "An Episode in the Life of Professor Brooke." "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" in class.

FRI. MAR 7 -- Read "The Swimmer" by John Cheever.

OVER BREAK -- Work on fiction piece if you wish.  Nothing due immediately.

THU. MAR 27 --  New Yorker reflection due.

FRI. MAR 28 -- Second fiction assignment due.
