Assignments Due:

Wednesday/75 - 20 minute course intro.
    Please read the course expectations and the guidelines for making a class presentation
 

Monday/10
    D-block:  Finish our course introduction.
        Finish reading A Tale of Two Cities and A Brave New World. Be prepared to discuss.
            - Some questions to provoke thought about Charles Dickens:
                - Consider the use of "twins." London : Paris; Darnay : Carton; Two views of the justice system.
                - How does your opinion of Madame  DeFarge change over the course of  the novel.
                - What is more admirable in your mind, the sacrifice Syndey Carton makes for Charles Darnay and Lucie Manette, or the comfort he gives to the young woman who is with him in the tumbrill?

Tuesday/11 -
     F-Block: Finish our course introduction.
      Finish reading A Tale of Two Cities and A Brave New World. Be prepared to discuss.
 

Wednesday/12
   Both Sections:  Be prepared to write today on A Tale of Two Cities.

Thursday/13   No School!    Here are some review questions for Brave New World

Friday/14 - Discussion followed by in-class writing on Brave New World.

I would suggest re-reading the final conversation between Mustapha Mond, Helmholtz Watson, Bernard Marx, and John the Savage.
 

Monday/17
    D-block:  The Iliad   Book 1. Follow links to review questions. When completing the review questions, it is strongly suggested that you note page and line numbers. This sort of diligence will pay off down the road. Also, make notes in your texts when you have found the answers to the questions.
