Directions to the Head of the
Charles Regatta in Boston, MA on Sunday, October 19th:
Brunswick parents / friends can gather where we did last
year near the finish line / launching site (FALS). You
can find us near the shore on the Boston/Brighton side of
river just up river from the big turn at the Eliot St.
bridge (across the river from the Belmont Hill/Windsor
boathouse).
Reminder:
Boston and Cambridge are a zoo on the Charles weekend and
there aren't really places to park close to the river. We
won't have a big tent set-up, so feel free to watch the
race from one of the famously packed bridges (Weeks Foot
Bridge or Eliot St.) or any place along the shore. There
is a trolley service that goes up and down Memorial Drive
(the Cambridge side) which is otherwise closed down.
Check out the race website for lots of info and immediate
results: www.hocr.org
The team will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriot at 777 Memorial
Drive in Cambridge for Saturday night only.

about a mile and a half later the town of Salisbury. Look
for the big White Hart Inn on the green. Salisbury School
is a couple farther miles east on 44 -- at the top of a
hill. Don't take the main entrance to the school (on your
right), but take a left and pass the baseball and
lacrosse fields and continue on what becomes a dirt road
until you come to the lake. This dirt road is long and
narrow.

If you are looking for some easy, free parking...Coach
Martin recommends using the White City (shopping mall)
parking lot at the end of the race course. This is just
on the opposite side of the Route 9 bridge from the
finish line. You would then cross Route 9, and walk down
towards the regatta entrance (which will be on your right
as you are walking down). The bridge is actually not a
bad spot from which to watch a race or two. It is only a
few meters after the finish line.
