Directions to the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA on Sunday, October 19th:

Brunswick parents / friends can gather where we did last year near the finish line / launching site (FALS). You can find us near the shore on the Boston/Brighton side of river just up river from the big turn at the Eliot St. bridge (across the river from the Belmont Hill/Windsor boathouse).

Reminder: Boston and Cambridge are a zoo on the Charles weekend and there aren't really places to park close to the river. We won't have a big tent set-up, so feel free to watch the race from one of the famously packed bridges (Weeks Foot Bridge or Eliot St.) or any place along the shore. There is a trolley service that goes up and down Memorial Drive (the Cambridge side) which is otherwise closed down. Check out the race website for lots of info and immediate results: www.hocr.org

The team will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriot at 777 Memorial Drive in Cambridge for Saturday night only.

Directions to Pomfret School's boathouse on Quasset Lake in Woodstock, CT: (April 5th)

From Greenwich: Take the Merritt Parkway Northbound to I-91 (get on 91 in Meriden) to I-84 East (get on 84 in Hartford). Take the Exit 69 marked "74 to 44." Continue east on 74 (through Willington, quite rural) for about 7 miles. Then take 44 East (a left turn) for several more miles. Follow signs for 44 East. At one point, you will have to have to go left and then take another left at a T stop to follow the signs for 44 East/North 169. From here travel a couple miles past Pomfret School and Rectory School (both on left). At the flashing light after about 1 mile past Pomfret School, take a left onto Route 97 (at the Vanilla Bean Cafe). After .7 miles take a right onto Quassett Road (the sign is on a vertical white post). Go 2.6 miles to West Quassett Road (a hairpin left turn). The boathouse is at the top of the hill on your left. Please park at the top of the hill and walk down. There will be a couple boys available to help bring stuff down the hill.

Directions to Salisbury School's boathouse: (April 16th and 26th)

Head north on 684. Eventually it becomes Rt. 22 in Brewster. Follow 22 to Route 44 in Millerton, NY. Take a right at the light in Millerton which keeps you on 44 (eastbound). Go through the village of Lakeville and about a mile and a half later the town of Salisbury. Look for the big White Hart Inn on the green. Salisbury School is a couple farther miles east on 44 -- at the top of a hill. Don't take the main entrance to the school (on your right), but take a left and pass the baseball and lacrosse fields and continue on what becomes a dirt road until you come to the lake. This dirt road is long and narrow.

Directions to Middletown, CT: (May 3rd)

Get on I-95 North. Take it to I-91 North (via exit 48). Take it to Route 9 South (via exit 22S). Take Rt. 9 South to Exit 14 - Dekoven Dr. At the end of the ramp take a left. Make a left at the light onto Church St. You will go under a highway bridge and come to a fork in the road, bear left. The Wesleyan Boat House will be the next driveway on your right.

Directions to Lake Waramoug in New Preston, CT): (May 4th and 10th)

Tak 684 North to 84 East to Route 7 North. Follow Route 7 to Route 202. Stay straight on 202 (headed north) for several miles until you get into New Milford. Take a right at the bridge (staying on 202) before heading into town and then take a left (staying on 202) and follow signs for Lake Waramoug State Park. The left turn towards the lake is several miles up on the left. When you first see the lake you still have to drive (counterclockwise) around a great deal of the lake.

Park up at the top of the hill and walk down towards the water for race viewing. This drive should take around an hour and a half.

Directions to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, MA: (May 24th)

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike East (from I-84). Get off at Interstate Route 290 East (Worcester). Get off at Exit 21 (Plantation St.). Turn right at the end of the ramp. Turn left onto North Road (between the Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center). Proceed to Lake Ave and turn right. The park entrance is one hundred yards on the left.

If you are looking for some easy, free parking...Coach Martin recommends using the White City (shopping mall) parking lot at the end of the race course. This is just on the opposite side of the Route 9 bridge from the finish line. You would then cross Route 9, and walk down towards the regatta entrance (which will be on your right as you are walking down). The bridge is actually not a bad spot from which to watch a race or two. It is only a few meters after the finish line.

Directions to the new Brunswick Rowing facility:

From I-95 (North or Southbound): Take I-95 to Exit 5. At the top of the ramp, turn left onto Route 1 (East Putnam Avenue). Go straight to the third traffic light (just over the bridge) and turn left onto River Road. The Brunswick Rowing facility is located 1/10th of a mile down the road on the left-hand side. The address is 151 River Road. There are entrances on either side of the brown building.

From Brunswick School's Maher Avenue campus: Get on the Post Road headed towards Riverside (East). Travel on the Post Road for about 1.5 miles. Take a right onto Robertson Lane. Take a left onto River Road. The Brunswick Rowing facility is located 1/10th of a mile down the road on the right-hand side. The address is 151 River Road. There are entrances on either side of the brown building.
