Welcome.
B.E.A.R. stands for Brunswick Environmental Action and Responsibility. The term encompasses all of our efforts to be more sustainable. You can learn about our current and upcoming initiatives on the Initiatives page. The E-Proctors are the students that work to implement these initiatives. To read more about the E-Proctor program, or to apply, check out the E-Proctor page. To learn more about our recycling program, click on "Recycling." To learn more about participating in the CFL Challenge check out the CFL Challenge page. At this time the Energy Management Plan is under construction. It is a document that will be written by students to propose ways we can become more energy efficient.

We no longer live in a world where we can live our everyday lives without considering the consequences of the small choices we make. Although the challenges posed by climate change are daunting, making small, manageable changes in the way we do things is the key to preserving the world we love for our children and our grandchildren.

B.E.A.R.'s mission is to raise awareness of these choices and to take what action we can at school to improve our community's sustainability.

Each ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, and 4000 kwh of energy. That's a 64% energy savings.

Light That CFL
Each CFL can save you $40 to $50 over the course of the bulb's lifetime.
